Please join us for this year's premier outdoor fundraising event to promote and preserve Colorado's environment, wilderness areas and outdoor recreation spaces.
We will be hiking the scenic trails of Roxborough State Park, which offers 4 levels of hiking experience for you to choose -- from easy to challenging -- with some spectacular views of red rock and sandstone formations along with diverse, dazzling flora and fauna. Do one or several trails – there is truly something for everyone of any level of skill or interest.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
PLEDGE GATHERING HIKER - $10 Entry Fee Gather pledges from friends, family and the community for the hiking you'll be doing. Must gather at minimum $15 in pledges/donations to participate in the hike. Pledge gatherers are eligible to compete for great prizes such as a Vail Zip-Line Adventure for two, outdoor gear from Patagonia, and National and State Parks passes.
CONTRIBUTING HIKER - $25 Entry Fee Come out to just hike – not gathering pledges.
TEAM - $50 Entry Fee Sign up your place of worship, business, family, social group, or nonprofit as a team. You are welcome to create and wear team t-shirts to show your support of Sierra while acknowledging your special group or cause. Teams must consist of at least 2 people and each member in the team must gather pledges. Each individual of the team is eligible to compete for prizes based on their own pledges.
VIRTUAL HIKER - $25 Entry Fee Not able to join us at Roxborough? Then donate $25 to join us in spirit, perhaps taking a hike wherever you are on Saturday, 9/14.
PARKING & CARPOOLING Parking is free for participants, but we strongly encourage carpooling. Not only is it a more environmentally friendly way to participate, the number of spaces at the park is limited and it is first-come, first-serve. At check out, you can request your name be on an open list of people willing to carpool so that you can contact participants closest to you and others can contact you to arrange rides for the event.
FOOD Grab-&-go food items will be provided to help you through your day of hiking. There will be enough to craft a meal for yourself or just a light snack if you prefer. Please indicate at check out if you have any dietary restrictions.
PRIZES AND PLEDGES Only if you choose to be a Pledge Gatherer Hiker ($10 entry fee), can you compete for prizes. As a Pledge Gatherer Hiker, you must gatherer at least $15 in pledges to participate in the hike, and each person who pledges for your hiking must donate at least $5 in total (for example, a straight $5 donation for whatever miles you hike or at least $1 pledge per mile if you are planning on doing 5 miles).
Prize levels and prizes*
1st Prize – The highest amount of pledges gathered, but must be at least more than $1000 – Vail Zip-Line Adventure for two.
2nd Prize – The second highest amount of pledges gathered, but must be at least more than $750 – outdoor gear from Patagonia.
3rd Prize – The third highest amount of pledges gathered, but must be at least more than $500 – Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park tram and all day ride passes and dinner for two at Baron's Restaurant in the historic Hotel Colorado.
4th Prize – The fourth highest amount of pledges gathered, but must be at least more than $250 – National Parks Pass and State Parks Pass (both for one year).
3 5th Prizes – The fifth through seventh highest amounts of pledges gathered, but must be at least more than $100 – State Parks Pass (for one year).

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION PACKS AND PLEDGE FORMS
An Official Participant Information Pack will be sent to you within 7-10 business days of your registration. Those who have chosen to enter as a Team or Pledge Gatherer Hiker will also receive their official "Step Strong Colorado!" Pledge Forms along with their information pack.
The information pack will contain more detailed information about the event, the hiking you can do, and will also have general and prize competition rules.
