Learn More About the Gathering

Fun, Relaxed, Family Friendly Atmosphere! This weekend is a great chance to meet new people, learn about the Virginia's natural landscape and have fun. While we structure the time with hikes, discussions and more you are never required to attend any of the sections. If you would like to sleep-in, start your own discussion group or just relax for an afternoon we encourage everyone to enjoy the weekend their own way. As long as you are respectful of the other campers.

Keynote Saturday evening: Dan Chu, National Director of Sierra Club's Our Wild America campaign. His remarks will cover the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act.

Hiking: This year, our hikes will include a trek to Buzzard Rock learn about the natural flora and fauna in the George Washington National Forest, and for early risers, join a crew for bird watching. Hikes will be led by trained Sierra Club guides. They are open to beginners and experts alike. Outings leader training 101 will be offered on Saturday and First Aid class schedule for Sunday morning.
