2014 John Muir Outing: Come See Clayton Tour
East Point MARTA Station

"Come See Clayton" Tour

PLEASE NOTE: This event has been rescheduled for June 7th, 2014.

Join us for a ride on the Lovejoy line as we highlight some of the best Clayton County has to offer! The proposed commuter rail line connecting Atlanta to Macon has been in the works for over a decade. Recent legislation, HB 1009, gives Clayton County an opportunity to join MARTA this year. The move would not only restore transit for thousands of residents in the county, it would also stimulate economic development projects. If Clayton were to join MARTA at a full 1% sales tax, the missing funding piece would finally be in place for the first segment of the commuter rail line to move forward. Federal funds earmarked for the project are still available! Join us as Special Guest Representative Mike Glanton leads the conversation while we take a ride to check out some of the stops along the way to Lovejoy. We'll depart via charter bus from the East Point MARTA station and will follow the planned route of the line, including the future stations in Forest Park/Fort Gillem, Clayton State University, and Lovejoy.

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
