Muir's Birthday Hike

Waters Creek waterfall

Join fellow Sierrans as we celebrate the birthday of our founder, John Muir, with a walk in the woods of the North Georgia. Take in the beautiful Waters Creek and waterfall, observe our threatened Hemlocks, observe about both wildlife and fish management, and see an how nature recovering from a forest fire.

Time: 1:00-4:00pm*

Meeting Location: Turner's Corner Campsite, US 19/US 129, click for map.

Level of Difficulty: Moderate (some elevation increases, 2+ miles)

Things to bring:  Hiking attire, good walking/hiking shoes, water/fluids, snacks, camera

Kid Friendly:  Yes

Dog Friendly:  Yes (on leash)

*The Wildlands Committee will be having their monthly committee meeting at the United Community Bank, Dahlonega, across from the post office from 9am-noon. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Time: 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
