The Sierra Club's Rocky Mountain Chapter proudly presents its Annual Winter Gala -- a fun-filled evening featuring an exciting presentation from Michael Brune, dinner, silent auction and awards ceremony to celebrate our Chapter's most inspiring volunteer activists. 

You are invited to attend this special, momentous occasion and hear from a national leader in the environmental cause and the Executive Director of Sierra Club, Michael Brune, as he presents us his vision of where we are now and where we are heading as a movement, intertwined with sharing his experience of his cross-country trip across the nation this past summer to key battleground areas in the fight for a cleaner and fairer future. It is especially thrilling to have Michael here as our state was one of his early stops on his tour. You can bet he will have a lot to share regarding his time here with us. 

Seating is limited to 100 people, so get your tickets now for this opportunity to experience first-hand Sierra Club and environmental activism history, all while getting in some holiday shopping and supporting your Chapter.

Event Details

WHAT: Sierra Club Rocky Mountain Chapter's Annual Winter Gala with Sierra Club's Executive Director, Michael Brune
WHEN: Friday, December 6, 2013, 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
WHERE: The American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th Street, Golden, CO 80401 (Map)
TICKETS: $35 - includes drinks and a delicious, satisfying barbecue buffet dinner (vegan/vegetarian option available) with sides and all the fixin's.


Due to the special nature of this event this year, including needing exact head-count for dinner, tickets can only be purchased in advance. NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR.

Doors to the event will open early at 6:00 p.m. for check-in and early participation in the silent auction. The event will officially start at 6:30 p.m. with the silent auction continuing in the hall adjacent to the conference center.  The conference center will open at 7 p.m. for seating.  Dinner will be served sometime between 7:15 to 7:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony and Michael Brune presentation will follow. After the presentation, the silent auction will open back up and close out the event.

Except for dinner rolls or other bread products, all other items served at the event - entrees, sides and sauces -- will be gluten free. Please indicate at check-out if you need the vegan/vegetarian option. Please contact Dave Read at if you have any questions about the food being served.

Alcohol will be served at the event at no additional cost to those who sign up for it at check-out.  Each guest will be given 3 coupons to exchange for their choice of beer or wine, and drinks will only be served one at a time. No additional alcohol will be sold at this event. All attendees wishing to partake in the beer and wine offerings will be asked to show valid government issued ID to verify age. BRINGING ALCOHOL TO THE EVENT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available and served without restriction.
