Take Action: Sights Set on Clean Energy and Clean Water A week of attacks on clean water continues as House of Representatives are expected vote on a bill to fund our energy- and water-related agencies. This bill, introduced by House Republicans, fails to restore funding for clean energy innovation and stops the president from protecting our streams and wetlands. It is riddled with harmful policy poison pills, including a repeal of critical clean water safeguards and the development of the problematic Yucca Mountain Nuclear Water Repository project. Tell Congress to oppose the attacks on clean energy and clean water! Grassroots Activism: Keep It in the Ground Last week a group of indigenous leaders and frontline activists gathered for the "Climate Equity Summit: Keep Fossil Fuels in the Ground." The Sierra Club was proud to be part of the meeting, which was envisioned as a space to connect the heroic efforts of people fighting coal, oil, and gas development from the Arctic to the Amazon, and to create an opportunity for each of these powerful movements to come together into one broader movement to Keep It in the Ground. Sierra Student Coalition members on college campuses nationwide are pushing their schools to invest in 100 percent clean energy as part of the Seize the Grid campaign.
