Dear
Show Your Support for Wind at Colorado Springs Utilities Board Meeting March 21st at 12:30 p.m. |
Did you know that last month Colorado Springs Utilities turned down an opportunity to pursue 50 megawatts of clean, renewable wind power -- enough to power as many as 15,000 homes?
Will you join us in asking the Utilities Board to reconsider wind at their next board meeting?
The board didn't have the full picture when they decided to dump wind and we have a chance to set them straight. The Colorado Springs Utilities Board turned down the opportunity to invest in wind because it was asked to assume that there
would be no wind customers in hand.
Yet, several potential wind buyers -- Fort Carson, UC-Colorado Springs, Colorado College, Shreiver and Peterson Air Bases -- were never given the chance to invest in this renewable project, which would have made the investment much more attractive for all ratepayers.
Come join us in standing up for wind and the benefits wind power could bring to our communities. With your help we can convince the Utility Board to make the right decision on wind -- RSVP now to join us on the 21st.
Here are the details:

By investing in wind energy we would help stabilize our energy rates, support Colorado's economy, offset dirty coal usage, and promote national security.
We are the shareholders of Colorado Springs Utilities; we have the power to decide where our power comes from. By demonstrating wide support for wind, we can give the Utilities Board grounds to reconsider the proposal and come out of this a hero for clean energy.
Please join us in this important and defining moment for Colorado Springs to determine our energy future.
Thanks for all you do to protect the environment,
Bryce Carter
