That's what the Governor wants to build, and that's what the water legislation being negotiated right now could authorize. Such a canal was proposed in 1982 and overwhelmingly rejected by California voters. You can help by contacting your legislators and urge them to vote NO on this water package. Currently in Sacramento, legislators are meeting in a special session on water and plan to pass a combined Delta water policy and bond package on Monday or Tuesday. This package has been heavily drafted by the State Water Contractors, large agricultural corporations and other special interests that have been the main bad actors in ruining the Delta ecosystem over the last 50 years.
