World Population Day 2010
Celebrate World Population Day on July 11, 2010 by contacting your representatives and urging them to support international family planning and the Sexual and Reproductive Health Act of 2010! This legislation strengthens and expands the U.S. government’s current program on international family planning and reproductive health (H.R. 5121). Additionally, by asking them to also increase funding for international family planning programs to $1billion in FY 2011, the United States can help bring an end to the rise of poverty, hunger, environmental degradation, and gender inequality that comes with poor health care and rapid population growth.
