Creatures of the Borderlands
Members of the International League of Conservation Photographers recently ventured to the US-Mexico borderlands to photograph the region's wildlife, ecology, and people. The result was Continental Divide, a traveling photo exhibit which earlier this month made its way to Jackson, Mississippi. Final Push to Save Our Mountains

Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune recently visited Pennsylvania to meet with people who've been affected by reckless natural gas drilling. He was also interviewed for an episode of 60 Minutes about drilling for shale gas using hydraulic fracturing ("fracking").
Fracking, as Brune wrote in his blog post The Word Obama Forgot to Say, is "exempt from the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Air Act, parts of the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, as well as our country's hazardous waste and cleanup laws."
How can we change that? The Sierra Club's Activist Network has a team working on the issue, and they're looking for volunteers to help them stop unregulated drilling.

As part of "The Alternative Travel Project," TV actors Stana Katic and Seamus Dever from the ABC show "Castle" vowed to give up their cars for seven days in Los Angeles. No, they didn't spend the whole week at the beach -- their plan was to show how easy it is to get around town using alternatives like bicycles and public transit.
You can see the result in four video episodes (watch for Michael Brune's cameo as "guy who knows exactly how many supertankers of oil Americans save each year by taking public transit").
