They're sitting in policy meetings, doing organizing and meeting with other groups, and doing their best to encourage the U.S. to take action. Fighting for the Energy and Commerce Chair
We're watching closely as four Republican Congressmen vie for the chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee next year. The four - Congressmen Fred Upton, Joe Barton, Cliff Stearns and John Shimkus -presented their cases to the GOP steering committee Tuesday and we're hearing that the decision will be made by next Tuesday. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is powerful, and Upton is appearing to be the favorite. Learn more from Politico. |

...Looks like Congressman Ed Markey's House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming could be eliminated. But the committee still held one last hearing today check out the testimony from the "Not Going Away: America's Energy Security, Jobs, and Climate Challenges" hearing this morning. Speakers included Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Wesley Clark, and more. |
About Your Car
One last note today the Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced another step toward increasing fuel efficiency and reducing global warming pollution from new vehicles made between 2017 and 2025.
