Dear
Fellow Sierran
Here's what's in this week's edition of CoolCATs Weekly:

3) Photo Challenge: take two
1) Valentine's Day Gifts from the Club
|
I'm not one to espouse consumerism, but even environmentalists have to give into romanticism once in a while. If you're looking for a gift for that special someone in your life that does some good for the planet at the same time, check out some of these Sierra Club gift ideas that help conserve our wild places. It's a good way to break out of the old flowers and chocolate rut. Regardless, happy valentine's day!

2) Providence Zipcar
|
The RI Chapter has been fighting to increase transportation choices in the Ocean State for years now, but, let's face it, there are times when cars are necessary. That doesn't mean you have to own one though, especially with Zipcar expanding its Providence operation. A lot of expenses can be saved and a lot of environmental stewardship can be done by ditching the personal automobile, perhaps this service can help us take that step.

3) Photo Challenge: take two
|
Seriously, who's got some good images of RI, or some documentary evidence about how bad our roads are? I'm looking for digital images of Rhode Island's natural or architectural beauty as well as any photos that document our transportation system (things like pictures of fuel efficient vehicles, bikes, buses, trains, sidewalks, crosswalks, etc.). Send the images to me at abel.collins@sierraclub.org.

Thank you for signing up for Cool CATs Weekly. You can make your community "Cool" by advocating for renewable power, green buildings and transportation choices. Visit the Cool Cities website for resources and toolkits.
Sincerely,
Abel G. Collins Sierra Club Rhode Island Chapter
