Cobb County Sierrans Build Monopoly Board to Help Figure out Cobb EMC dealings
Have you had trouble keeping up with all the wheelings of Cobb EMC? Us too, so we built a Monopoly-like board to try to help us keep track of it all. Roll a five and you land on Allied Energy Services, a subsidiary of Cobb Energy chaired by Dean Alford, which lost $4.33 million between 2004 and 2007. Find former Governor Roy Barnes standing in the "Jail" square handing out Get Out Free passes.
Or what if you land on the Cobb Energy Mortgage Company? Well that subsidiary of Cobb Energy (formed in 2005) lost $870,000 in two years of its existence between 2005-2007. Dean Alford led this company, and who knows, perhaps it is still a part of Cobb Energy Management Corporation Liquidating Trust, which was set up to liquidate the assets of seven other for-profit entities!
Don't forget to pass GO and take your seemingly blank check of bonus money from the ratepayer's treasure chest! Click here to read more about several EMC members' request for a FERC investigation of this mess and if you're a Cobb EMC member, click here to take action.

If you feel like rubbing in the Braves sweep of the Giants over the weekend, consider submitting an entry to Sierra Club's "Fear John Muir's Beard" t-shirt design contest. Our colleagues in the home office in SF will be judging, and I know someone out there can figure out how to get a Tomahawk discretely into their design !
The deadline is tomorrow (Thursday 4/28), so get cracking and submit your design here.
