Take Action: Protect Spotted Owl Habitat
Due to a recent timber industry court victory, a flawed management plan is back in effect in western Oregon. The plan proposes a 400% increase in logging of the habitat of Northern Spotted Owl. The plan would also eliminate 680 known nesting sites of the owl. Ask the Obama Administration to withdraw the plan and finalize a new plan for the recovery of the species. |

Take Action: End Our Dependence on Oil
Transportation is the number one use of oil in the United States, in large part due to our sprawling communities and streets that are designed for more cars rather than for other forms transportation. The bipartisan Safe and Complete Streets Act (H.R.1780.) would ensure that streets across the country are designed with all users of the roads in mind—including pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders. Ask your representative to end our dependence on oil by cosponsoring the Safe and Complete Streets Act. |
