1) The Blackstone Meets the East Bay

The Blackstone River Bikeway celebrated a major milestone this morning as it has been officially connected to the East Bay bikepath. Using a couple of miles on on-road connections, it is now possible to get from Bristol all the way into Massachusetts. With summer in full swing, there couldn't be a better time to get out and enjoy Rhode Island's new and improved greenway system.

2) Speaking Of

 Speaking of biking in Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition is holding its inaugural organizational meeting tonight at 6pm at the Brown Bookstore. Officers will be selected for the coming year, and it's a great chance to get involved in the state's premier bicycle advocacy group. With the looming cuts to our transportation budget hanging over our heads, that advocacy is going to be more important than ever.

3) Brace Yourselves

|
 Yes, big cuts are coming to transportation funding if House Republicans get their way (and that seems to be the direction we're heading). Worse still, the cuts are aimed at some of the best parts of the transportation plan.
