Join us at the protest against the tar sands this Sunday Nov. 6th in Washington, D.C.! Watch your special invitation from Michael Brune. |
Dear
This Sunday, Novemeber 6th, it's our moment to tell the president to deny the permit for the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline. At 2:00 pm ET thousands of activists from around the nation will encircle the White House and rally against tar sands.
Sierra Club's Executive Director, Michael Brune, will be in Washington, D.C. on Sunday as we make history in moving our nation Beyond Oil by calling on President Obama to stop this dirty, dangerous tar sands oil pipeline.
Will you be there with him?
The proposed Keystone XL pipeline is dirty, dangerous, and unnecessary. Tar sands oil is the dirtiest source of oil on Earth, this pipeline is a line in the sand in our fight to stop climate disruption. And on November 6th, we are bringing this message directly to President Obama.
Together we will circle the White House and demand that President Obama stand up to big oil and reject the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline.
Event Details:
WHO: You and all others who want to protect our planet from Big Oil
WHAT: The largest tar sands rally in history, demonstrating to President Obama that tar sands will not be tolerated
WHEN: Sunday, November 6th at 2:00 pm ET
WHERE: Lafayette Park in front of the White House - Washington, D.C.
Our goal is to recruit 5,000 people to circle the White House. Please let us know if you'll be able to join us.
