Take Action: Keep Our Rivers Wild and Scenic
Legislators from Minnesota and Wisconsin are pushing a radical bill that would facilitate construction of a $700 million bridge over a protected river. In fact, the bill would set a never-before-seen precedent, as such a highway has never before been allowed over a congressionally designated wild and scenic river. Representative Betty McCollum (D-MN) has crafted a letter to the House leadership asking that this controversial bill receive the debate it deserves. Ask your Representative to sign onto this letter. |

Sierra Student Coalition: Hanging Out with Lisa Jackson
Last week members of the Sierra Student Coalition from schools across the U.S. met with Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson (pictured right) in Washington, DC. They talked about coal, tar sands, clean energy, and more. Then the big day continued with the students visiting the White House to talk with youth-outreach officials.
