Take Action: Oppose Anti-Environmental Amendments to Spending Bills Take Action: Oppose Anti-Environmental Amendments to Spending Bills

A raft of anti-environmental amendments have been proposed for the Energy and Water Appropriations bill, a spending bill that the Senate could consider in the near future. Examples of these amendments include blocking enforcement of water-quality standards needed to protect Appalachian streams from mountaintop-removal mining, preventing the Army Corps of Engineers from clarifying the Clean Water Act's protections for streams and wetlands, and exempting pesticides from the Clean Water Act.

Urge your senators to oppose these anti-environmental amendments.

Students at the University of Georgia danced as a way to educate people about coal's health effects.

And to top it all off, Huffington Post just ran a feature on the many recent accomplishments of SSCers nationwide.

Nice job, SSC!
