Dear
The Maine Sierra Club is partnering with a broad coalition of Maine organizations on an exciting citizen's initiative to increase renewable energy, cut air pollution, lower energy costs, create green jobs, and move our state toward greater energy independence.
The Clean Energy Ballot Initiative would require utilities to invest in cost-effective energy efficiency, and get 20% of Maine’s electricity from clean energy sources like wind and solar by 2020.
Nearly 60,000 Mainers have already signed the petition to get the question on the ballot for the November 2012 election, but we need to make a last push to get signatures in the coming week to get us over the top.
We can do this if activists like you collect just 50 signatures from family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
Please join me in collecting signatures this week. To get involved and help, go to http://www.cleanenergymaine.org/getinvolved.htm or call 207-761-5616.
With the LePage administration pushing to rollback and weaken our hard-won environmental laws, the Clean Energy Ballot Initiative is the best opportunity in 2012 to make real progress on protecting and improving Maine’s environment.
Thank you for all that you do to protect Maine's environment.
Sincerely,
Glen Brand
Director
Maine Sierra Club
