Imagine waiting 30 minutes at a railroad crossing for a coal train to pass by on your way to drop your kid off at school, making your child late.  Imagine the alarm of a loved one in an ambulance needing life saving medical care but getting stuck at a rail road crossing due to a mile long coal train. Imagine breathing harmful coal dust spewing from coal trains near your home, compromising the health of your family and community. The coal indsutry doesn't want you to imagine this. They want this to be your reality.

Take action now to stop Big Coal from moving dirty coal through our communities.

As the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources, Peter Goldmark has a huge role in the fight to stop Big Coal from exporting coal through our backyards. His opposition would ensure that Big Coal's profits don't come at the cost of Washington's health and environment.

Our region is known for our cutting-edge innovation and smart solutions. We can do better than coal. Despite this the coal industry is working hard to ensure our state is the premier location for coal export in the US. We must protect our well-being and future by standing up against Big Coal's dirty plans for our communities. We have collected 1,500 petitions already but if we can reach 3,000 Commissioner Goldmark will know we support him and stand strong against the intense pressure of Big Coal.
