Submit comments on APS's energy efficiency programs! Calling all Arizona Public Service Company (APS) customers! We need your help! The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) is currently considering APS's Energy Efficiency Programs and Program Budgets, which set the goals for energy reduction through efficiency programs as well as the rebates available to customers to implement efficiency in their homes and businesses. Energy efficiency is the cleanest, cheapest energy resource available to us. By reducing the amount of energy we use, we reduce harmful pollutants and delay the need for new infrastructure, including power plants and transmission. This further reduces the costs of electricity. If you are an APS customer, take action! Please send a message to the commissioners supporting strong efficiency programs. For more information, please contact Sandy Bahr at (602) 253-8633 or sandy.bahr@sierraclub.org. Thank you! |

Legislature Up to Little Good on Energy Issues Please contact your legislators about these issues How does the Arizona Legislature feel about energy? They like it! They want us to use more, more, more! Let's tell them no, no, no! HB2789 corporation commission rules; legislative approval (Lesko, Harper, Kavanagh, et al.) would require the Arizona Corporation Commission to submit all rules or amendments to existing rules and policy decisions adopted after Dec. 31, 2012, to the legislature for approval. This includes rules mandating the use of specific sources of energy (e.g., solar or wind) or increasing standards for energy efficiency or renewable energy. This bill is a blatant attempt to undermine energy efficiency and renewable energy programs, regardless of the fact that the public strongly supports increasing these programs and that much progress has been made on these issues at the Corporation Commission. Please ask members of the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee to vote NO on HB2789! |
