Take Action: Protect Our Borders and Coast
The National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act (HR 1505) was recently introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives. If this bill passes, more than 30 federal protection laws, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act, would be waived on public lands in a zone that extends 100 miles into the United States from all land borders. The bill puts dozens of national parks, tribal lands, and protected natural areas at risk. Disguised as a border-security initiative, it is in fact an assault on public lands and environmental health.
Tell your representative to say no to HR 1505.
Grassroots Activism: Supporting Carbon Pollution Safeguards
On May 24, hundreds of environmental activists, health professionals, labor and faith leaders, and other concerned citizens attended two EPA public hearings in Washington, D.C. and Chicago to demonstrate their support of the agency's proposed protections from carbon pollution produced by new coal-fired power plants.
