Get on the bus! Email Rita

Dear Friend,

Join us in DC to demand that something be done about climate disruption, including the tar sands pipelines like Keystone and Seaway that threaten the U.S. and Texas.

The Forward on Climate rally will take place on Sun., Feb. 17th.  It will be the biggest climate rally in history. Dozens of volunteers from Texas will be boarding a bus to D.C. to help President Obama lead on critical climate solutions.  This is also our opportunity to send a message that Texas needs protection from Keystone, and other tar sands pipelines like the twinning of the Seaway tar sands pipeline that would run near Dallas on its way south through Houston neighborhoods.

For this one, size matters. This rally will only be a success if every person who can possibly make it comes with us. To reserve a seat on the bus, please email Rita Beving ASAP (no later than Tuesday, Feb. 5), to let me know you're coming! We need 40 people to make this trip work so please, forward to friends. Also, please specify which city you're coming from.

The bus trip is quite affordable and includes 2 nights hotel stay in DC just blocks from the White House.  There will be an entire day for folks to enjoy the nearby DC sites before Sunday's rally.

The first step President Obama can take is to reject the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. So at the Forward on Climate Rally, we'll engage in several critical actions that push him to lead on climate, as well as hear from inspiring speakers like Bill McGibben, Michael Brune, and surprise celebrity guests. Together, we will make it clear to the president that climate's time is now.

You can make this a Presidents Day weekend that President Obama won't forget - sign up to join the biggest climate rally in history, stop the toxic Keystone XL pipeline, and create tangible momentum on further climate action.

We are planning to leave from Dallas on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 before the event. The trip will be partially underwritten by Sierra/ Citizen.  We will return to Texas late Monday, Feb. 18 (President's Day holiday).
