Take Action: Are You Coming to the "Forward on Climate" Rally?
On Sunday, February 17, tens of thousands of Americans will head to Washington, D.C. to make "Forward on Climate" the largest climate rally in history. Join this historic event to make your voice heard and help the president start his second term with strong climate action. Take Action: Support a Robust Weatherization Assistance Program for Low-Income Americans The government's Weatherization Assistance Program is a remarkable success story. It has increased the comfort and reduced the energy bills of more than one million low-income families. Families receiving weatherization services see their annual energy bills reduced by an average of about $437, depending on fuel prices. Tell President Obama to make sure the Weatherization Assistance Program has adequate resources to continue its important work. Grassroots Activism: Happy Birthday, Sierra Club Puerto Rico Sierra Club Puerto Rico just celebrated its eighth birthday, and the chapter's achieved some amazing successes over the years. From protecting the Northeast Ecological Corridor to stopping a natural gas pipeline and more, the chapter's staff and volunteers have done phenomenal work. When they started in 2003, they had 68 members. Now they number more than 1,600. Congratulations and feliz cumpleaños, Sierra Club Puerto Rico! Grassroots Activism: Events Mark 100 Days of Climate and Clean Energy Action Sierra Club volunteers have so far held more than 35 events as part of the 100 Days of Climate and Clean Energy Action.
