Take Action: Government Buildings Should Be Dirty-Fuel Free!
Senator John Hoeven is expected to introduce a bill in the Senate that would repeal a money and energy-saving section of the Energy Independence and Security Act. The targeted provision mandates the phaseout by 2030 of dirty fuels used by federal buildings. A repeal would be a huge step backward for the green-building movement.
Tell your senator to oppose this rollback on green building, clean energy, and taxpayer savings.
Take Action: Did Your Representative Vote for Keystone XL?
Last week, the House of Representatives approved a bill that would rubberstamp the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline, which would carry Canada's toxic and corrosive tar sands oil from Alberta to the Texas Gulf Coast for overseas export. This bill is the latest stunt by Big Oil and its friends in Congress to promote dirty energy rather than the clean, alternative solutions that our country should be investing in.
