Take Action: Protect and Preserve Sierra Nevada Forests California's national forests offer some of the most spectacular experiences in America: Hiking to the top of Mt. Whitney or along the Pacific Crest Trail. Exploring the forests around Lake Tahoe. Marveling at majestic giant sequoias.. But our national forests are not only beautiful landscapes -- they also provide clean drinking water and vital wildlife habitat, while fueling our state's economy. This year, the U.S. Forest Service is taking a fresh look at how the forests of the Sierra should be managed in coming decades. Brune Family Vacation Celebrates New "Our Wild America" Campaign Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune and his family are hitting the road to launch the Sierra Club's new "Our Wild America" campaign. The campaign will build on the Sierra Club's historic work to protect nature, redoubling efforts to save America's wild places for everyone to explore and enjoy. During the two-week trek across the western United States, the Brune family will visit many places desperately in need of protection and talk to local community leaders about how we can save our wild legacy and reenergize people to go out and enjoy all our public lands have to offer. Grassroots Activism: Delaware Speaks Out for Clean Air Last Tuesday, hundreds of Delaware residents gathered in Delaware City for a public hearing about the local refinery's air permit.
