1) Doing Math, Getting Rowdy
The "Do The Math" screening at URI last week was an unqualified success. At first when we reserved the Weaver Auditorium at the Coastal Institute, I thought it would be discouraging if we couldn't put bodies in enough of the seats. As it turned out, people were forced to stand in the aisles. You can read about the night here. Once again, it is apparent that enthusiasm in the environmental movement is not going away, and we can win. You can help. Please take action using the orange "take action" buttons to the right.

2) October Outing: Check Out the Blackstone
Join us in Woonsocket on Saturday, October 26th as we checkout the Blackstone Bikeway, which has just recently seen numerous improvements. We'll start at 10am and be done by noon. Our meeting place will be the parking lot at Davison Avenue. More details can be found on our Facebook event page, and please don't forget to invite your friends.

3) Permaculture Presentation at URI
It's no secret that suburban sprawl has contributed to our unsustainable culture. What if there were a way to restore sanity to this broken development model? Permaculture holds that promise, and Jan Spencer, a leader in the field, is coming to URI to present on his experience of turning a quarter acre of suburbia into an ecologically complete and productive landscape. The presentation is called Transforming Where We Live- Our Homes, Culture, and Economy, and you can RSVP here. Please invite your friends. It'll be taking place at 4pm on October 30th in Edwards Auditorium at URI. Hope to see you there!
