Dear
Fellow Sierran
Here's what's in this week's edition of CoolCATs Weekly:
1) Growing Solar Event
2) Executive Committee Openings
3) Ignite at the Contemporary Theater Company
4) Last Chance for the Action Camp
1) Growing Solar Event
|
The future of solar power is bright, as you can read in this article on ecoRI. Costs for photovoltaics continue to come down quickly, and with the proper energy policy and incentive programs Rhode Island can become a leader in the field. Thus, Environment RI is hosting a Growing Solar in RI Roundtable on Wednesday in Newport, and as it happens I'll be one of the panelists. I hope to see you there for this informational and inspiring event. Please RSVP on Facebook and don't forget to invite your friends!

3) Ignite at Contemporary Theater Company
|
Another great opportunity this week is Ignite, being hosted by the Contemporary Theater Company in Wakefield and presented by the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce. The idea is similar to TED talks with each presenter given five minutes to get their big idea across. I'll be there to recruit people to be climate activists. Will you be there? It will sell out so get your tickets now!

4) Last Chance for the Action Camp
|
Finally, time is running out to register for the Hands Off Appalachia Action Camp, which is kicking off at the Voluntown Peace Trust tomorrow. This is your best opportunity to get involved in the fight to stop mountain top removal mining. Many folks are just signing up for the weekend's trainings. When can you make it?
