Take Action: Bring Trade Agreements Into the Light of Day!
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement is a massive trade pact that is being negotiated behind closed doors between the United States and 11 countries across the Pacific Rim. The agreement would have significant impacts for our climate, air, and water, but it is being negotiated in secrecy. Congress is expected to debate whether to allow the TPP and other trade deals to be "fast-tracked," meaning there would be no opportunity for amendment and only limited debate.
Tell Congress: oppose fast-tracking the Trans-Pacific Partnership!

Grassroots Activism: Fighting for Carbon Pollution Reductions
Congratulations to the Sierra Club activists in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Thanks to their awesome work, the county commission last week adopted a resolution calling for an 80 percent carbon reduction goal.
More than 50 climate activists from environmental organizations, local businesses, and elsewhere packed the county commission meeting, and many spoke as well.
Grassroots Activism: Population Activists Needed!
The Sierra Club Global Population and Environment Program is seeking volunteers for an activist training in February.
Their activist training offers participants the opportunity to gain information and skills to effectively link climate change, reproductive health and rights, sustainable development, population and the environment as leaders and activists on campuses, in communities, and with Sierra Club activists from around the U.S.
Sign up before January 3!
