Dear Conservation Friends,
Here we go! On Monday, we will start the second regular session of the 51st Arizona Legislature. It will begin with the State of the State address by Governor Brewer in the afternoon and many speeches by legislators. So far, there is not too much committee
activity posted as not that many bills have been introduced. I expect
that will change on Monday though. One thing I wanted to point out to you all is that the Arizona Legislative Council has changed the Request to Speak system, so you will not be able to sign in to speak on a bill or register an opinion until you set up a new account. If you included your email information with your original sign up, you should be getting an email on Monday to ask you about transitioning. If you did not, you will have to make a trip to the Capitol to set up the account. After that, you will again be able to sign in remotely. Shoot me an email or call me if you have any questions.
Conserve Arizona – Water, Wildlife, and Wildlands
On February 18, 2014, environmental advocates from around the state, new and experienced, will be gathering at the Arizona State Capitol to meet with state legislators to express support for rivers and streams, clean air, land conservation, and more. Come be part of one of our teams!
We are switching over our Legislative Tracker, so it may be a week or so before we get that updated, but right now, there are very few bills to track. If you no longer want to receive these updates, just zap me an email or unsubscribe by clicking on "Manage Preferences" at the bottom of the message. Please come join me at the Capitol and thank you for taking action and for caring about Arizona's environment. Warm regards, Chapter Director Sierra Club – Grand Canyon Chapter (602) 253-8633 http://arizona.sierraclub.org |
