"I'd put my money on the Sun and Solar Energy, what a source of Power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out, before we tackle that." –Thomas Edison

We hope you'll join us for this special presentation!
We have heard a lot about solar electric in the last few years, but, unfortunately, Solar Water Heating, which uses the sun’s heat (solar thermal) has too often taken a back seat to solar electric (photovoltaic), which uses the sun’s light. Solar Water Heating is 85 percent efficient, affordable by most ratepayers, and has a shorter payback period than solar electric. Clearly we need all of the above, when it comes to renewable energy. Jim Combs will be presenting at this month’s Energy Team Meeting on the benefits of Solar Water Heating. Jim has been a solar water heating contractor in Arizona since 1982 and is a founding member of the Arizona Solar Energy Industry Association (ARISEIA). NOTE: This presentation is part of our regular monthly Energy Team gathering. Everyone is welcome! For more information, please contact Sandy Bahr at (602) 253-8633 or sandy.bahr@sierraclub.org. |

Go solar and save! How does this sound: saving money on your electricity bills, helping to protect our environment, earning funding for our chapter's work in Arizona...and getting paid to do it? By signing up to go solar through our Solar Homes Partnership, you will receive a $750 incentive, our chapter will also receive $750, and you'll have the benefit of a solar-powered home. It's a win-win-win! Click here to learn more and to get a free quote. NOTE: We encourage you to get at least three quotes to determine which option best suits your needs. We also encourage you to implement energy efficiency measures and to take action to reduce energy use, in addition to using clean sources of energy such as solar. |

Energy Tip O' the Day Was one of your New Year's resolutions to save money? Implementing energy efficiency measures in your home or business can help you do just that! For example, in these colder months, use sunlight to your advantage by choosing window treatments (and opening and closing them, as appropriate) that allow natural light to heat your home. |
