Victory! Governor Kasich announces he won't allow fracking in Ohio state parks. Tell him to protect our state forests, too. |
Victory! Governor Kasich announced his opposition to fracking in Ohio state parks today!1
The devil is in the details, though. Let's make sure Governor Kasich moves ahead and protects our state forests and all other state-owned lands from fracking, too.
Send your letter today! Tell Governor Kasich no fracking should be allowed on any state-owned lands, whether it's our parks, forests or other areas.
This is a sharp change from the governor's long pro-fracking history. After we uncovered a disturbing PR strategy memo outlining how the state and the fracking industry were cahoots to discredit community and environmental groups concerned about the devastating impacts of fracking, the governor went on the offensive.2
Thanks to the hard work of activists like you, he finally had no choice but to back down and put the brakes on fracking in our parks. While we have won this battle, there is still more to do. Keeping the oil and natural gas industry out of our state parks is the first step. Let's ensure any and all of our state-owned lands are beyond the reach of this dangerous industry.
Tell Governor Kasich our state forests and other state-owned lands must be off limits to fracking as well!
Thanks for all that you do to protect our environment,
Brian Kunkemoeller,
Conservation Program Coordinator
