Dear
Fellow Sierran
Here's what's in this week's edition of CoolCATs Weekly:
1) An Op-Ed Worth Sharing
2) TELL YOUR LAWMAKERS
3) Friedman Joins the Resiliency Bandwagon
4) Whitehouse Slams Deniers
5) Solar Freaking Roadways!
1) Senate Climate Bill Hearing
|
The optimum time for having an op-ed published is probably not the Friday before a long weekend, but that's what I got with my essay on supporting resilience legislation this session. Well, thanks to the wonder of the internet, the timing isn't so important anymore, and you can still share it today. Please post it so your "friends" see it, or send it via email. Let's get the word out that this is the year!

3) Friedman Joins the Resiliency Bandwagon
|
Yesterday, Thomas Friedman had a great piece in the NY Times which will help solidify the concept of resiliency at the national level. If you didn't see it, you can read it here. Branding is critical for the success of every contemporary campaign, and it's encouraging to see our efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change move forward this way.

5) Solar Freaking Roadways!
|
What if we could take the environmental disaster that our millions of acres of pavement is and turn it into something wonderful? It just might be possible. A couple of inventors have produced a way to build our roads and parking lots out of interlocking solar panels, and the crowd sourcing fundraiser they started to support their work has gone viral, exceeding their goals quickly. You have to see it to believe it, CLICK HERE.
