Dear
Fellow Sierran
Here's what's in this week's edition of CoolCATs Weekly:
1) Saying Goodbye
2) We're on Meetup!
3) The Scientists' Lament
1) Saying Goodbye

Today is my last day as Program Manager, and for the time being the Chapter will be without staff. It has been a privilege and an honor to serve you. We've had a lot of fun together, and in the process we've managed to get a lot done. But all good things must come to an end, as they say.
I will remain as involved as possible in a volunteer capacity, and for the Chapter to remain an effective voice for RI's environment, we're going to need more people to step up their volunteerism, too. Will you join me? You can contact our new Chapter Chair, Dana Goodman, to get involved.
PS- Yes, this is the last weekly newsletter. Thanks for reading along.

2) We're on Meetup!
|
At our annual retreat held at the Kettle Pond Refuge Center yesterday, we came to the conclusion that we needed to do more to promote the outings and events of the Chapter. Facebook has been helpful but insufficient. Happily we identified Meetup.com as a platform that will bring us more directly in touch with people who are itching to get together to "explore, enjoy, and protect the planet." PLEASE JOIN OUR RI SIERRA CLUB MEETUP TODAY.

Thank you for signing up for Cool CATs Weekly. You can make your community "Cool" by advocating for renewable power, green buildings and transportation choices. Visit the Cool Cities website for resources and toolkits.
Sincerely,
Abel Collins
