CT Sierra Club Endorsements
The Chapter Political Committee has had a banner year with our endorsement process. We have endorsed Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman, Secretary of State Merrill, and Attorney General Jepsen for re-election. For the first time, we came to understand the opportunities of the office of the State Treasurer, and so we endorsed Treasurer Nappier after receiving an exceptional statement from her. See it all, including the candidates’ statements and our endorsement letters, on the chapter website www.connecticut.sierrraclub.org. We endorsed 41 candidates for the House, 13 for the senate, and all 5 Congressional incumbents. You will receive a mailing this week with the names of our endorsees who will appear on your ballot. We hope you will keep this in mind as you make your voting decisions.
VoteYesCT
Did you know our state has among the most restrictive voting rules in the country? Vote only on a Tuesday. No early voting. Very restricted access to an absentee ballot. It's because of the language in our state constitution. There will be a ballot question to amend the constitution to remove these restrictions and allow the legislature next year to enable early voting, no-excuse absentee ballots and perhaps other measures which will help everyone vote. For more information, visit the website www.VoteYesCT.org. Get to the polls on Nov. 4 and vote IN FAVOR of this change. Guaranteed to brighten your day and make us proud.
