Plastic Paradise Comes to the Big Screen in Arlington
Remember when BPA was discovered to be harmful and companies announced it would no longer be used in some plastic products? Ever wonder what else is used in that plastic, and do you know where most of it ends up?
The Mount Vernon Group is joining Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE) and Tap-In Arlington to screen the 2013 award-winning documentary Plastic Paradise on April 15th at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse. It's a movie that will open your eyes--and perhaps change the products you use. A panel discussion will follow the film. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children. You can buy them in advance from the Drafthouse. More information is also available through the ACE website.
Go Gaga for Green!
The Mt Vernon Group is a sponsor of the Go Gaga for Green event at George Mason University Founder’s Hall (Arlington campus) being held from 5 til 8 pm on Saturday, April 25th.
Celebrate sustainability in Arlington with food, fun, a rain barrel silent auction and live entertainment—including student performers from both Arlington Public Schools and George Mason University.
This is a family-friendly celebratory community gathering to benefit George Mason University’s Early Identification Program, the Arlington County Council of PTA’s Scholarship Fund and Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment’s Energy Masters Program.
