Stop Ratepayer Subsidies for Fracked Gas Pipeline
Governor Malloy is committed to seeing legislation passed that will finance gas pipeline projects with ratepayer subsidies. In order to advance his policy, the governor is advocating a Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) crafted Bill #1078, which would protect the interests of the gas industry, while shifting cost from the private sector to ratepayers. Specifically, Bill #1078 has three components that should concern all Connecticut residents. [Read more]

May 6 - Educational Forum - Coventry Town Annex - the CT Chapter Sierra Club, Food and Water Watch, and 350CT.org are presenting an educational forum regarding new interstate and intrastate pipelines in Connecticut carrying methane gas from the fracking fields to our west and south. Learn more about the environmental and economic impacts associated with these billion dollar construction projects. Co-hosted by the League of Women Voters of Northeastern Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut Green Action, and Save Open Space-Coventry Advocates. [Read more]
May 14 - Greater Hartford Group Monthly Meeting - An Introduction to the Living Building Challenge calling for the creation of building projects that operate as cleanly, beautifully and efficiently as nature's architecture to be presented by Melissa Arminio Kops, LEED and Living Future Accredited Architect at Centerbrook Architects. May 24 - Lake Williams, Lebanon - This 250-acre pond is 2.5 miles long with undeveloped shoreline and surrounding deep woods. [Read more]
May 30 - Pachaug Pond, Griswold - This 841-acre lake is the largest public water body east of the CT River and has many fish to attract anglers. [Read more]
