Sierra Club Launches Major New National Effort: Clean up Dynegy Campaign
The Sierra Club will be announcing a major new grassroots campaign to urge coal giant Dynegy to abandon its six new proposed coal-fired power plants and instead move its investments into cleaner energy solutions. Dynegy, also known as LS Power in some parts of the U.S., is proposing to construct more new coal-fired power plants than any other power company in the nation.
The new campaign, which in addition to the teleconference will be kicked off with a nationwide call-in day to Dynegy headquarters in Houston, TX, will focus on Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada and Texas—all states where Dynegy has proposed new coal-fired power plants.
WHAT: Teleconference (with Question and Answer session) to announce the new Clean Up Dynegy campaign. Speakers on the will address the latest coal industry trends, the financial risks of coal and the economic benefits of investing in green energy.
