Americans want a clean energy economy that will secure an end to our oil addiction, create millions of green-collar jobs and fight global warming. On Saturday, September 27, people across the U.S. will take part in a "Green Jobs Now: Day of Action." Activists are now organizing Green Jobs Now events, with a special focus on low-income communities and communities of color.
Help show that America is ready to build an inclusive green economy, strong enough to lift people out of poverty and solve the climate crisis. Sign up to attend an event in your area.
Whether it's an intimate house party or a giant rally, your event will help usher in a new, clean economy that begins to heal the planet and ensures prosperity for all.
Fighting Global Warming Saves Money in CA
Good news for Californians, and maybe a sign for the rest of us? Check this out: "California's mandate to cut climate-altering exhausts from vehicles and industry by nearly one-third in the next 12 years actually will boost the economy, a state analysis released Wednesday predicts."

The Sierra Club Gets Eco-Chic at Fashion Week
How do clothes relate to global warming? Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope and some friends from the fashion world discussed just that during New York’s Fashion Week. Pope then took the stage then to co-host (with supermodel Angela Lindvall) the launch party for "Be EcoChic," a new campaign sponsored by the Sierra Club.
Sporting a seaweed-fabric shirt (he says it was the most comfortable thing he's ever worn), Pope met Lindvall in her element to talk about sustainable and environmentally-sensitive fashion design.
