In a move that angered environmentalists and automakers, the Bush Administration last week decided to not implement the new vehicle fuel economy rules -- punting it to the Obama Administration.
From the LA Times article:
The implementation plan proposed by President Bush was expected to save nearly 55 billion gallons of oil and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 521 million metric tons over the life of the new vehicles built from 2011 to 2015.

New Report: Nuclear Power Much More Expensive Than Renewables
Climate Progress issued a report last week showing that nuclear power now costs on average 25 to 30 cents per kilowatt hour, a much higher rate than clean, renewable energy sources.
