September 13th 2008,

1pm-2:30pm

Ohio Statehouse

Join Workers and Environmentalists as we unite to demand, Green Jobs that help to reverse Climate Change, provide Ohioans with affordable clean energy, and trade policies that protect workers and the environment.

Ohio will see growth in jobs and a bolstering of its’ economy through efficiency, environmentally sound technologies, and clean energy. To do this we must increase clean energy production in our state, and better efficiency within our buildings. We must promote training programs that provide pathways out of poverty by teaching workers how to perform the skilled tasks needed to build the new green economy. In order to make this vision become a reality we must have fair trade policies  that  ensure companies here and abroad are held to the highest standards of workers rights and environmental protections.

Speakers will include:

Conservation Director of the Sierra Club, Greg Haegele
Governor Ted Strickland
Executive Director of Green Peace, John Passacantando
District One Director of the United Steel Workers Union, Dave McCall
Vice President of the Ohio AFL-CIO, Dave Caldwell
Midwest Director for the NRDC, Henry Henderson

We are asking Governor Strickland and other elected officials to join us in signing the Good Green Jobs Pledge to ensure a better and brighter future for all Ohioans!
