Protect Moapa: Attend An EPA Hearing May 3rd! The Moapa Band of Piautes Tribe lives everyday in the shadow of the Reid Gardner coal plant, leading to high rates of thyroid and respiratory illness -- a product of breathing the plant's incessant coal pollution. The Sierra Club and the Chairman of the Moapa Band of Paiutes, William Anderson, personally invited the EPA to see the damage inflicted by Reid Gardner, Clark County's last coal fired power plant, on the community. The result: the EPA agreed to hold a public hearing on May 3. We must demonstrate there is strong support for the Moapa people at these hearings if we are going to protect them from the threat of coal pollution. In Nevada with our abundant sunshine we have the resources to create a clean energy economy and retire Reid Gardner -- a win for everyone! Protect the Moapa Band of Paiutes Tribe and move Nevada toward a clean energy future that works for everyone! RSVP Today!
