Meet Peter Gorr. Peter thinks big and acts local. This spring, Peter saw community aggregation as an opportunity to make big clean energy gains and spearheaded a successful effort to bring 100% green energy to his town of Palatine -- but he didn't stop there. Peter organized public meetings to educate residents on electricty choice thoughout the region, and ultimately six other surrounding communities (Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Vernon Hills, Wheeling) joined Palatine to provide 100% green energy for their residents. Peter's tenacity in pursuit served as an invaluable example for other volunteers across the state also working to make clean energy a reality in their communities.
But when it comes to building a cleaner future, Peter doesn't just "talk the talk", he "walks the walk". The Gorrs recently installed one of the largest residential solar electrical systems in Illinois on their family home. His only regret? He wishes he had a bigger roof. Peter serves on the Executive Committee of the Northwest Cook County Group
and is an active member of the Energy Transition Committee.
A big thank you and a hearty congratulations for Peter's efforts to bring clean energy to his community.
