Georgia Chapter to refine the Chapter's 2006-2008 strategic plan and working goals.
When: Friday, March 19th - Sunday, March 21st
Where: Georgia Chapter Office, 743 E. College Ave., Suite B, Decatur, GA 30030
What: National staff will join the Georgia Chapter to help the Chapter refine the Chapter's 2006-2008 strategic plan and working goals. We have a weekend packed full of sessions and fun times. The training weekend will kick off with registration and a social Friday night in Decatur. The cost to attend the training weekend is $10, including breakfast Saturday.
- Friday - Registration will be help at the office from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m., with dinner to follow at 7:00p.m. at Leon's Full Service, 131 E. Ponce de Leon.
- Saturday - Saturday morning, join us for breakfast at 8a.m. and conservation planning with Tim Guilfoile, the Deputy Director of the Sierra Club Water Sentinels Program. Tim will guide the chapter as we assess our progress on the goals that were set in 2006 and what new goals we need to undertake. Lunch will be provided by the Fundraising Committee and Saturday afternoon we will break out into Conservation committees and the Executive Committee will meet during this time from 1:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. Saturday night, committees will meet for dinner at area restaurants with a bon fire to follow at the office.
- Sunday - Sunday morning, the conference will resume with a political committee break out and training.
Where to Stay: Several lodging options have been made available for out-of-town attendees. You may choose to camp in the green space behind the office in Decatur, using the bathrooms inside to clean up (unfortunately, we don’t have any showers!). The Sierra Club has also arranged special pricing** at the following hotels in the area:
