Protect the Endangered Species Act -- The comments period has ended
On August 15, the Department of the Interior proposed sweeping changes to this landmark environmental law.
Under the new regulations, federal agencies would no longer have to consult with experts at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service.
Instead, the agency proposing the project would have the power to decide how it would affect wildlife.
The Sierra Club hand-delivered 25,435 number of names and comments to the Department of Interior on October 15.
