Some of the major issues facing the park today are air and water quality. Existing and new proposed coal-fired power plants west of the park threaten the park with pollution.
The Sierra Club is working to block new coal-fired power plants, retire the existing fleet of dirty, polluting power plants, and substitute the use of clean, renewable forms of energy such as wind and solar power. Promoting clean energy helps provide clean air and water for our national parks and all communities. The Club has also been leading a campaign to protect the surrounding pristine national grasslands as wilderness to protect more of this endangered ecosystem. STEP 2: Select your sponsorship level
