The Sierra Club was one of the very first champions of Glacier National Park, advocating for its initial establishment 1910. Today, the Sierra Club is focused on protecting Glacier from the impacts of climate change.
Through our Resilient Habitats initiative we are working to aggressively preserve and reduce the vulnerability of the natural places most affected by climate change. In order to help wildlife and native plants survive, it is necessary reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate the effects of climate change on the habitats the wildlife depend on. We need to act now to make sure that the park doesn’t lose its mountain goats, wolverines, bull trout, glacier lilies and other natural treasures as a result of climate change.
