The Sierra Club has worked diligently to protect the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for many years, focusing on the two biggest threats to the park: road construction and air pollution.
In addition, the Club is working to clean up dirty, polluting, coal-fired power plants in the area, which will help reduce haze and the number of air pollutants that are affecting the health of the park’s trees and wildlife, as well as the people living in the area.
