We Must Stop Big Oil Allies in Congress

We need to act now

Even as we learn more about how the oil industry got around environmental and safety regulations for years, leading to the disaster currently unfolding in the Gulf, the Senate is preparing for a June 10th vote on a resolution to block the EPA from enforcing the Clean Air Act to reduce pollution.

Call your U.S. senators and tell them to end the cozy relationship between Big Oil and government.

Check out our talking points:
  1. Big Oil allies in Congress, led by Senator Murkowski from Alaska, are trying to block EPA from enforcing the Clean Air Act to reduce global warming pollution from the Oil and Coal industries.

  2. This arrogant move comes as the public is learning more about how the oil industry has gotten around environmental and safety regulations for years, leading to the disaster currently unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico.

  3. It would be remarkably irresponsible to allow polluters to be exempted from even more environmental laws as oil continues to gush into the gulf.

  4. Adding insult to injury, the legislation would stall new fuel economy rules that are on track to reduce our oil dependence and save consumers at the pump.

  5. It's time to end the cozy relationship Big Oil has with government and vote against Senator Murkowski's resolution to challenge the EPA's authority to reduce global warming pollution.
