Valentine's Day. It's normally the last day you should break up with someone. But this year, let's use February 14 to show our love for clean energy and ask Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) to end a bad, long-term relationship with coal.
Over 1,000 Oklahomans signed petitions to OG&E asking them to break up with coal and make a real commitment to clean, renewable energy. Last year, OG&E CEO Pete Delaney said they would make a decision on how to meet clean air standards in the first part of 2014. With the clock ticking, they'll have to either clean up their two coal-fired power plants or phase them out and replace them with cleaner energy sources. It's time to deliver our Valentine's message to them and let OG&E know that there is widespread demand to move beyond coal. Can you join us?
Come out and show your love for clean energy!
